Comparison
A separate card, or a network-based setup?
The useful comparison is the complete configuration you need. Removing a card changes one part of the setup; it does not remove the need for compatible equipment and software.
Compare the approach, not just the label
A card-based approach uses a separate hardware card, with requirements determined by that product. rDMA+ instead uses custom BIOS firmware prepared for a compatible motherboard and connects two PCs over a network or directly by Ethernet.
Different card products have different connections, firmware, software requirements, and support arrangements. The comparison below explains the distinction without treating every card as identical or claiming one approach is faster or better in every situation.
| Question | Separate-card approach | SwiftDMA rDMA+ |
|---|---|---|
| Additional hardware | A separate DMA card; confirm the particular card's other requirements. | No separate DMA card. Two compatible PCs are still required. |
| Firmware preparation | Confirm which firmware the selected card requires and what is supplied. | Custom BIOS firmware prepared for the supplied motherboard and BIOS file. |
| Connection | Depends on the selected card and complete setup. | Both PCs on the same network, or connected directly by Ethernet. |
| Companion software | Check the seller's included software and licence terms. | Gaming-PC installer and uninstaller, second-PC launcher, and LeechCore compatibility. |
| Game software | Verify separately rather than assuming a card purchase includes it. | Separate game-software licences are not included. |
| Support | Depends on the seller and product. | Setup assistance and a three-month firmware repair-or-replacement warranty. |
What still needs checking with rDMA+
The exact motherboard, BIOS and Windows versions, second-PC details, connection, game, and software must be confirmed before purchase. A network connection by itself does not establish that the rest of the configuration is supported.
Secure Boot and IOMMU can remain enabled on supported configurations. This qualification matters: do not assume that a statement about one motherboard also applies to another.
If you are replacing an existing setup, describe what you currently use and what you expect to retain. Ask about each component explicitly; do not assume existing firmware or software can be reused just because both products use the term DMA.
Compare the complete cost
rDMA+ is €400 for the first five customers, with a €650 standard price. Confirm launch availability in Discord. Include the second PC and any separately required game software when considering the complete setup, rather than comparing firmware prices alone.
The three-month firmware warranty starts on receipt. A failure must be reported within that period for investigation and repair or replacement at no additional charge. Firmware access continues after the coverage period ends.
